Everybody learns differently, utilise your strengths; learn efficiently
I’ve spent many years performing throughout New Zealand, recording professionally, and sharing classical guitar with audiences. That experience has taught me how to practise effectively, solve technical challenges, and communicate music with confidence – skills I enjoy passing on to every student.
Based in Dunedin, I offer one-to-one private guitar lessons, from my guitar studio in Central City Dunedin – my goal is to foster life long learning, nurturing the ability to self evaluate, trouble shoot, and develop no matter where your musical journey takes you.
I build healthy practice habits, overcome trouble areas, and develop a sense of ease. Allowing my students artistic freedom, and personal expression.

Lesson Fees
First Lesson
30-minute introductory lesson – $30
A relaxed first lesson where we’ll:
- get to know one another
- discuss your musical goals
- assess your current experience
- begin playing together
- recommend the most suitable lesson pathway
Ongoing Lessons
45-minute personalised lessons – $40
Weekly one-to-one tuition from my private Dunedin studio.
- Lessons are invoiced monthly in advance to reserve your regular lesson time and keep administration simple.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need any prior experience?
Not at all – lessons can be tailored for complete beginners through to advanced players.
What styles do you teach?
Lessons are available for all styles of guitar, from classical, and Spanish guitar, through to blues, folk, and electric.
Do I need my own guitar?
Yes – having your own instrument is essential, but I’m happy to offer advice when choosing one.
Do I pay weekly?
No – Lessons are invoiced monthly in advance. This simplifies administration and secures your regular lesson time each week.
What if I can’t make it to a lesson?
If you need to cancel a lesson, please provide 24 hours notice. Where ever possible I will reschedule your lesson. Where rescheduling is not possible, I credit the lesson fee to the following month’s invoice.
